AlphaTheta presents DDJ-GRV6 – 4-channel controller with Groove Circuit (Drum Swap, Roll, Release, Capture) for live remixes, rekordbox/Serato, club layout.
AlphaTheta Corporation unveiled the DDJ-GRV6 on October 8, 2024, a 4-channel DJ controller featuring the new Groove Circuit function that enables free manipulation of drum parts and creation of original grooves. The announcement was made via the official AlphaTheta website.
The DDJ-GRV6 is compatible with rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro. The Groove Circuit feature is available in rekordbox for Mac/Windows and allows replacing drum parts of a track – even during playback – with different drum loops, genre-switching, and adding effects for fills, build-ups, and breakdowns.
Core Groove Circuit functions:
- Drum Swap: Replace drum parts of a track during playback with different drum loops (40 free loops for download)
- Drum Roll / Trans: Impromptu drum rolls, fills for transitions, build-ups via Roll or Trans effect on drum parts
- Drum Release: Release FX on drum parts for breakdowns
- Capture: Extract only drum parts of a track and save for later drop in another track
Further features:
- Layout: Inherited from CDJ + DJM setups – large jog wheels (ideal for scratching), 8 Performance Pads above jogs (like CDJ-3000), Beat FX from DJM-A9 in mixer section
- Smart Rotary Selector & Discover function: Faster browsing and track selection
- Stems FX (Serato DJ Pro): Effects like Roll, Trans, Echo Out, Delay applicable to individual stems (drums, bass, vocals, melody); overlay sheet for button relabeling included
- Multi-device: PC/Mac, smartphones, tablets (rekordbox for iOS/Android: only channels 1&2; no Bluetooth)
- Connectivity: 2× USB-C, MIC (1/4" TRS), MASTER (1/4" TRS + RCA), BOOTH (RCA), PHONES (1/4" + 3.5 mm)
