AtoV introduces Faderpunk, a controller for MIDI and CV setups that uses loaded apps to operate as a sequencer, modulator, or interface.
AtoV has introduced Faderpunk, a controller designed for MIDI and CV workflows. The unit can be operated as a standalone desktop device or integrated into Eurorack systems taking up 56 HP.
App-based architecture
The unit relies on a software concept allowing up to 16 apps to be stored and run simultaneously. As a result, Faderpunk can operate beyond manual fader control to perform modulation and signal routing tasks. Included tools encompass:
- LFOs, AD envelopes, and rhythm generators
- Sequencers, quantizers, and envelope followers
- Random generators and Turing machines
- CV-to-MIDI converters and MIDI-to-CV interfaces
- Attenuators and offset utilities
An open-source firmware also allows community-developed apps to be integrated. Setup adjustments and customized tools are handled via a browser-based web editor. Up to 16 scenes can be saved directly on the hardware.
Interface and connectivity
The physical layout contains 16 channels, each equipped with a 60 mm ALPS fader and an illuminated RGB button, alongside dedicated Shift and Scene buttons. Every channel offers a configurable CV jack configured for input or output across voltage spans of 0 V to +5 V, 0 V to +10 V, or +/-5 V. With three additional freely assignable CV jacks, the unit features 19 CV connections in total.
Connectivity includes a USB-C port handling power and MIDI, a 3.5 mm MIDI input (Type A or B), two 3.5 mm MIDI outputs (Type A), and an I2C port.
