With the Behringer Wing, the manufacturer brings a fully digital mixing console to market that's built from the ground up around a consistent stereo signal path. 48 stereo channels, 28 buses, and eight Midas PRO preamps aim to make it suitable for studio, live, and broadcast applications alike.

A console designed entirely in stereo
Of the 48 channels, 40 are designed as stereo input channels according to the manufacturer, with the remaining eight as stereo aux inputs. Each of the 40 input channels comes with three fixed plug-in slots for gate, dynamics, and EQ, plus five additional freely assignable plug-in slots. The eight aux inputs feature an insert slot, an expander/limiter, and a 4-band parametric EQ. For sound shaping, 16 genuine true-stereo effects processors with over 80 algorithms are also on board.
Operation: Touchscreen and motorized faders
The Wing is operated via a 10.1-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, plus 24 motorized 100 mm faders that can be split into three freely configurable sections. This lets you lay out different channel groups, buses, or aux sends on the faders depending on the situation.
Networking and expansion
For signal distribution, Behringer states a total of 374 inputs and 376 outputs are available. Three AES50 ports carry 144 input and output signals combined over SuperMAC CAT5 connections, while StageConnect transports 32 channels at 44.1 or 48 kHz, 24-bit. Two Ethernet ports with an integrated switch handle remote control; an optional internal AoIP module adds 64 channels of Dante or Waves SoundGrid networking. An expansion slot on the rear accepts further audio and network cards.
