Lewitt presents the LW6, a closed-back studio headphone featuring ultra-wideband transmission with low latency, Bluetooth 5.3, and an onboard DSP.
Lewitt has introduced the LW6, marking the manufacturer's first studio headphone. The closed, over-ear model is designed for recording, monitoring, mixing, and mastering.
Wireless Connection via UWB
For wireless audio transmission, the manufacturer utilizes its proprietary RealSound technology based on ultra-wideband in the 6.8 to 10.2 GHz frequency range. Through the included LW TX transmitter, uncompressed PCM audio is streamed at 1,728 kbps. According to the manufacturer, latency stays below 6 milliseconds, with a transmitter range of approximately 5 meters. The transmitter connects via USB-C to computers or through an analog input to audio interfaces. Additionally, the headphones support Bluetooth 5.3 with SBC and AAC codecs, alongside wired operation via USB-C and 3.5 mm jack.
Hardware and Integrated DSP
Inside the 358-gram headphones, dynamic 40 mm drivers with bio-cellulose diaphragms operate with an impedance of 32 ohms and a frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. An integrated DSP handles signal processing directly on the hardware. Through the LEWITT HEADPHONES software, users can configure a fully parametric 5-band EQ, virtual studio monitors, monitoring tools such as mono and side-stereo, and the Loudness Guard function.
Battery life reaches up to 21 hours, with a 15-minute quick charge via USB-C providing up to three hours of operation. The package includes the transmitter, various cables and adapters, as well as a license for the Space Replicator Essential plugin.
