From DEMF to Movement
The festival’s history is one of repeated reinvention. What began in 2000 under the direction of Carol Marvin and her organization Pop Culture Media as the Detroit Electronic Music Festival changed names and producers several times in the following years: "Movement" (2003–2004), "Fuse-In" (2005), and finally back to "Movement" in 2006 – this time under the production company Paxahau, which still runs it today.
