Pioneer DDJ-FLX10: STEMS Controller for Live Mashups

The Pioneer DDJ-FLX10 is a 4-channel performance controller from Pioneer DJ for rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro that breaks tracks down into their component parts live. Using STEMS technology, the unit separates any song into Vocals, Drums, and Inst (the remaining instruments including bass and synths) — all without pre-prepared stem files.

Live STEMS Instead of Desktop Prep

The heart of the DDJ-FLX10 is its color-coded buttons for each individual part. Using ACTIVE PART and PART ISO, you can adjust the volume of Vocals, Drums, or Inst independently or mute them entirely. FX PART SELECT decides which part receives an effect, and with PART INSTANT DOUBLES you copy an isolated part to another deck while it stays muted on the source deck. The result: mashups and breakdowns created right in your set, no track prep on the computer required.

Mix Point Link and Lighting via DMX

With Mix Point Link, a new playback concept in rekordbox, you set fixed transition points between two tracks — the next song kicks in automatically at the perfect moment, for instance the instant the vocals on the current track end. For the stage show, the controller packs a built-in DMX output: hook up lighting gear without an extra interface, and rekordbox syncs color and movement to the music automatically.

MAGVEL FADER and Expanded Jog Display

The MAGVEL FADER debuts a 4-sensor system — an evolution of the 2-sensor design on the DDJ-1000 — capturing even the subtlest crossfader movements with higher precision. The on-jog display offers four switchable modes: deck info with overall waveform, zoomed waveforms for both decks, artwork view, or your own custom DJ logo. Plus, the multi-colored jog ring — a first on a Pioneer DJ controller — shows the active STEMS parts by color.

Technical Specs

The Beat FX section also takes cues from the DJM mixer series and adds a new effect called "Stretch" that audibly elongates the sound. A voucher for the Serato expansion pack Pitch 'n Time DJ is included, enabling key-shifting and key-sync with no loss in audio quality.

The controller was unveiled on March 23, 2023 under the motto "Split. Mix. Create." Since then, Pioneer DJ has continued to support the unit with firmware updates, most recently version 1.13 in October 2024, and expanded software compatibility in summer 2025 to include djay Pro for Mac and Windows.
