Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10: Stems Controller With Club-Size Jogs

Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10: four-channel controller for rekordbox and Serato with Track Separation, DMX output and jog wheels the size of a CDJ-3000's.
The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10 splits your tracks into three parts on the fly: vocals, drums and inst. You load regular songs from your library and build mashups without preparing anything in advance. AlphaTheta announced the four-channel controller on 23 March 2023, and according to Bonedo it replaces the DDJ-1000 and DDJ-1000SRT.

Stems at your fingertips: what makes the DDJ-FLX10
At its core are colour-coded buttons for each part. ACTIVE PART mutes vocals, drums or inst, while PART ISO lets you set each part's volume. Bonedo describes how the channel's three EQ knobs turn into volume controls: low for drums, mid for vocals, high for instruments.
FX PART SELECT decides which part is sent to the Beat FX or Sound Color FX. PART INSTANT DOUBLES moves a single part to the other deck. That way the bassline of one track keeps rolling while the vocal of the other sits on top.
A note for Serato users: Serato DJ Pro separates into four stems, but the controller only has three part buttons. According to Bonedo, you handle the fourth stem via the performance pads in Pad FX 2 mode.
Club-style jogs, fader and effects
According to Bonedo, the jog wheels measure eight inches, the same size as on the CDJ-3000. The On Jog Displays offer four modes: deck info, waveforms for two decks, artwork or your own DJ logo. A multicoloured jog ring shows which parts are playing.
The MAGVEL crossfader uses four sensors instead of the DDJ-1000's two. New in rekordbox is Mix Point Link: you link mix points in two tracks and the next song starts automatically at the chosen spot. The Beat FX section adds the new Stretch effect. Bonedo notes that the 14 Beat FX are built into the hardware and also work on turntables or CD players in standalone mixer mode.

Who the DDJ-FLX10 is for
The controller targets DJs who play from a laptop and want to remix live. It is not standalone: according to Bonedo, unlike the XDJ-RX3 or XDJ-XZ it needs a computer running software. The two USB-C ports let you connect two computers, for example for a back-to-back set.

Does the DDJ-FLX10 need a computer?
Yes. For rekordbox, Serato DJ Pro or djay Pro you need a computer running the software. According to Bonedo, the mixer section also works as a standalone mixer for external sources.
Does the DDJ-FLX10 support DVS?
Yes. rekordbox offers DVS with selected subscription plans, Serato via a paid licence for Serato DJ Expansions or Serato DJ Suite.
Is the DDJ-FLX10 USB-powered?
