The Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV7 brings the classic turntable-plus-mixer layout back to the controller market. Instead of two equally sized decks, AlphaTheta opts for an arrangement on this model that feels like a DJM-S mixer sitting between two turntables – complete with motorized jog wheels actually built for scratch DJs.

Layout Like a Turntable Setup
The two jog wheel sections sit deliberately far apart, with the mixer section in the middle – creating the visual and tactile feel of a classic two-turntable setup. The jog wheel tops feature a vinyl-textured acrylic disc that, according to the manufacturer, provides better grip for scratching and can be individually marked with stickers. A 3.5-inch display in the center of each jog wheel shows track info and the current playback position.
Magvel Fader and Instant Scratch
The centerpiece for scratch DJs is the Magvel Fader, whose curve and "weight" can be adjusted via dedicated controls. On top of that comes the Instant Scratch function: four preset scratch samples can be triggered at the push of a button, or you can load your own samples from four banks directly from Serato DJ Pro or rekordbox. 22 built-in Beat FX plus Silent Cue and Smooth Echo round out the effects arsenal.
