The Pioneer DJ DJM-250MK2 is the entry model of the DJM range, yet it carries club-standard hardware: the crossfader and filter come from the DJM-900NXS2. Two channels, a built-in USB sound card and DVS support for rekordbox and TRAKTOR make it a compact desk for anyone who wants to play records, players or a laptop.

Club technology in a compact format
Pioneer DJ introduced the DJM-250MK2 in March 2017 and describes it as the entry point into the DJM series. In the manufacturer's words:

The lower half of the mixer is kept clear, so you have room for scratch techniques. The Magvel crossfader uses a contact-free magnetic system, with two metal shafts supporting the fader knobs. According to Bonedo, two switches for crossfader reverse and crossfader curve sit between the 45 mm line faders.
EQ, filter and mic: shaping your mix

Each channel also gets a filter taken from the Sound Color FX section of the DJM-900NXS2. A shared parameter knob controls the resonance. A 64-bit digital signal processor with dithering handles analogue and digital sources. The mic section is independent, so you can use a microphone and the AUX input at the same time.

Who the DJM-250MK2 suits
The mixer fits DJs who work with rekordbox and want to add turntables or Pioneer DJ players. A single USB cable carries audio in both directions, so you can record your mix straight to your computer. According to Pioneer DJ, the box included licence keys for rekordbox dj and rekordbox dvs, while the RB-VS1-K control vinyl is sold separately. Bonedo notes that there is no booth or record output, so you adjust a monitor system on the speakers or amplifier.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the DJM-250MK2 with TRAKTOR?
Yes. Pioneer DJ lists DVS support for Native Instruments' TRAKTOR PRO 3, controlled with TRAKTOR Scratch control vinyl or CDs.
Can I connect two pairs of headphones?
Yes. There is a 1/4" stereo jack and a 3.5 mm mini jack, and both can be used at once, for example in back-to-back sets.
Does the mixer have phono inputs?
Yes, two: each channel has a phono and a line input, plus a signal ground terminal for your turntables' ground wires.
