Pioneer DJ XDJ-XZ: Four Channels in an NXS2 Club Layout

Pioneer DJ XDJ-XZ: four channels, a 7-inch touch screen, Pro DJ Link and the DJM-900NXS2 effects in one unit – all specs and connections at a glance.
The Pioneer DJ XDJ-XZ squeezes a club booth into a single chassis: according to the manufacturer, playing it feels exactly like using the CDJ-2000NXS2 and DJM-900NXS2. Four channels, a 7-inch touch screen and the full effects set of the club mixer – Pioneer DJ unveiled the system on 12 November 2019.

Club layout without the cable mess
Channels 1 and 2 play rekordbox-analysed tracks straight from a USB drive. Alternatively, you connect your laptop and control rekordbox or use Link Export mode – according to Pioneer, even with two laptops at the same time. Channels 3 and 4 take external sources such as turntables, samplers or smartphones.
According to Bonedo, the jog wheels come in the original CDJ size of 206 mm, and their tension is adjustable. The colour On Jog Display in the centre shows track information. Pro DJ Link, mics and master EQ
With Pro DJ Link you connect CDJs to channels 3 and 4, sync them to your mix and browse their libraries on the XDJ-XZ screen. Three USB ports (two Type A, one Type B) make back-to-back sets and DJ changeovers easier.
For events there are two mic inputs with their own 3-band EQs and a Feedback Reducer against howling, which according to Bonedo offers Light and Heavy settings. Bonedo states that the 3-band EQ on the master output covers −26 to +12 dB, so you can tune the overall sound to the room.

Who the XDJ-XZ is for
Pioneer DJ lists events, bars, clubs and private studios as typical settings. The unit is a single chassis with grab handles – a setup you can get running without wiring up separate components. There are variants too: in 2020 Pioneer DJ released the limited gold XDJ-XZ-N, followed in 2022 by the white XDJ-XZ-W.
Frequently asked questions
Does the XDJ-XZ work with Serato DJ Pro?
Yes. Since firmware version 1.10, released on 10 March 2020, the XDJ-XZ supports Serato DJ Pro control. The same update added FLAC playback at 44.1 and 48 kHz with 16-bit and 24-bit resolution.
Can I connect turntables or CDJs?
Yes. Channels 3 and 4 have phono and line inputs. You can also integrate CDJs via Pro DJ Link, using the three LINK ports.
How heavy is the XDJ-XZ?
Pioneer DJ specifies 13.0 kg at 878.0 × 466.1 × 118.4 mm.
