With the DJM-A9, Pioneer DJ introduces a 4-channel mixer that the manufacturer positions as the next generation of its club sound and understands as the successor to the long-standing DJM-900NXS2. The mixer targets professional DJs in clubs and studios.

Converters and Sound
At the core of the DJM-A9 is the continuous 32-bit conversion from ESS Technology. At the input, a high-quality 32-bit A/D converter ensures clear, high-resolution sound, according to Pioneer DJ, while dedicated 32-bit D/A converters from ESS Technology handle the conversion at the Master and Booth outputs.
Beat FX and Sound Color FX
The Beat FX section grows to 14 effects total. New additions are the three effects Mobius, Triplet Filter, and Triplet Roll. For the Sound Color FX, Pioneer DJ has introduced so-called Center Lock: each knob stops when reaching the center position instead of turning freely.
Mic Section for MCs
If you use the DJM-A9 with hosting or live MC parts, you get a dedicated mic section with Echo, Pitch, and Megaphone effects plus a separate Reverb effect. Add a Push-to-Talk function for quick muting/unmuting and phantom power for condenser mics.
Connections and Software
On the digital side, the mixer offers one USB Type-A port plus two USB Type-B and two USB Type-C ports, so multiple players can stay connected simultaneously. A Bluetooth input can be routed to any channel, and built-in Wi-Fi is included. Supported software includes rekordbox and Serato DJ Pro, according to Pioneer DJ. Two independent headphone outputs with their own Cue buttons and Mix Balance controls allow two DJs to pre-monitor at the same time, while a 2-band Booth EQ complements the Master output.
