Six Tracks, Decades of Drum Machine History
Each of the six tracks of the TR-6S can be freely assigned its own sound: Bass Drum, Snare, Tom, Rim Shot, Hand Clap, Hi-Hat, Cymbal, and Percussion are each available in several digitally modeled variants. This allows you to build kits that combine, for example, a TR-808 bass drum with a TR-909 hi-hat or percussion from the CR-78 CompuRhythm. The sequencer works with multiple variations per pattern as well as additional fill-in patterns. Ratcheting can be programmed via Sub Steps, plus Flam, Step Loop, and Motion Recording for changing parameters in the loop. The Scatter function and probability control allow you to vary patterns live without losing the basic structure – a tool particularly suitable for live sets where grooves are meant to evolve organically.

The TR-6S is significantly more compact than its larger sibling, the TR-8S. It can be powered either by batteries or via USB. For studio connectivity, a USB port serves as an audio/MIDI interface, along with MIDI and audio outputs.
