The Roland TR-6S packs the sonic heritage of the classic TR series into a compact, battery-powered enclosure. Using Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology, Roland recreates the circuits of its classic drum machines TR-606, TR-707, TR-808, and TR-909 – model by model, right down to the individual components of the originals.

Classic Circuits, Newly Recreated
At the core of the TR-6S is the ACB emulation of several Roland classics: TR-606, TR-707, TR-808, and TR-909 are available as sound sources, complemented by 86 ACB tones and 300 factory samples. You can also load your own WAV and AIFF samples via the SD card slot, allowing you to combine classic TR sounds with your own material. Six instrument tracks run in parallel via the integrated step sequencer.
Sequencer with Old-School Feel and New Flexibility
The 16 backlit step pads deliberately evoke the operation of the original TR-808 and allow patterns up to 32 steps long, divided into A and B parts that can be chained for longer sequences. Each pattern offers two fill types and eight pattern variations. Programming can be done step-by-step or via real-time recording using the original TR-REC method, plus a dedicated tempo knob and a TR-909 shuffle knob for organic timing.
Compact Format, Full Connectivity
Despite its small form factor, connectivity remains complete: a built-in USB audio interface allows direct multi-track recording into your DAW, and solid MIDI clock sync ensures precise timing with external equipment. The TR-6S is powered either via USB or four batteries – practical for sessions and gigs without a power outlet nearby.
