Teufel presents the STUDIO 5X, an active three-way monitor featuring a coaxial midrange and tweeter design.
Coaxial three-way system for music production
Teufel has introduced the STUDIO 5X. This active three-way system combines a 5.25-inch woofer with a coaxial midrange and tweeter driver configured along the same axis. The stated frequency response covers 37 Hz to 24 kHz (-10 dB) and 40 Hz (-6 dB). According to the manufacturer, this point source design eliminates phase shifts at the crossover frequency, allowing operation in either vertical or horizontal placement without tonal degradation.
Connections and acoustic adjustment
Phase-linear DSP filters process the audio signal. The rear panel features balanced XLR combo inputs. Analog filters, including low-shelf and high-shelf options, facilitate frequency response adjustments for different acoustic environments such as corners, free-standing setups, or positions close to walls. The front-firing bass reflex port also supports positioning near boundaries.
The cabinet includes two M6 threads for installation on stands, walls, or ceilings. Matching desktop stands are offered separately. The monitors are sold in pairs.
Optional Bluetooth model
In addition to the standard wired version, Teufel offers the STUDIO 5X BT. This variant integrates Bluetooth 5.0 with support for aptX HD and AAC to receive wireless audio directly from mobile hardware or computers.
