UDO Audio expands its range with the compact DMNO ON synthesizer. The modular desktop system features eight hybrid voices and optional controller units.
Synthesizer maker UDO Audio expands its product catalog with the DMNO ON. The hardware is a compact desktop version of the DMNO synthesizer designed to work with optional expansion modules.
Hybrid Architecture and Flexible Modes
The base DMNO ON unit shares the full feature set of the keyboard original. It provides eight hybrid voices arranged as two separate synthesis engines with four voices each. Dedicated play modes enable layering, stereo splits, cycling, serial playback, and random triggering across both engines.
The synthesis architecture includes the following specifications:
- FPGA digital oscillators and a binaural signal path
- A DSP effects engine
- A dynamic multi-core stereo VCF offering parallel, serial, and stereo operation per engine
- Independent modulation tools and an overdriven mixer section for each block
Add-on Modules for Hands-on Control
Unlike the larger edition, the desktop model uses a single front panel shared between both engines. To control both engines simultaneously, the manufacturer offers the optional ONM-1 expander unit. It connects via a screw-locking D-Sub port on the rear panel and operates via plug-and-play without an external power supply.
UDO Audio also announced the ONM-2 expansion unit. This hardware provides dedicated controls for send and insert effects alongside the 3-band EQ, which previously required menu navigation. An integrated LED display visualizes current parameter values.
