The Denon DJ SC LIVE 4 packs four decks, a 7-inch touchscreen and built-in Wi-Fi into a single unit – no laptop required. Inside it runs Engine DJ, the standalone operating system that, according to Denon DJ, also powers DJ booths on big stages worldwide. You log into your streaming service right on the unit and start mixing.

The core idea is music access without a computer. According to Denon DJ, the integration with Apple Music and other services opens up more than 100 million songs in CD quality. On top of that you get an SD card slot and two USB inputs for your own library, plus Dropbox support.
Bonedo points out that Engine OS analyses tracks that haven't been prepared yet on the fly. If you bring a large collection, it's better to analyse it beforehand in the Engine desktop software, which also imports Traktor and Serato libraries. According to Bonedo, you can even import rekordbox libraries directly on the unit.
Club layout with four channels
The mixer follows a 3-1-2-4 arrangement: the main decks sit in the centre, the extra decks on the outside. Layer buttons switch the left deck section from deck 1 to deck 3 and the right one from deck 2 to deck 4, while the waveforms are stacked on the display in channel order. Each channel has gain and a three-band EQ whose crossover frequencies and isolator mode you set in the preferences.
For effects, the SC LIVE 4 offers four channel Sweep FX, each controlled by a knob per channel, and 13 customisable BPM FX with a dedicated FX section. Unlike the smaller SC LIVE 2, the jog wheels have built-in displays showing time, tempo and deck. Engine Lighting lets you run beat-synced light shows with Philips Hue, Nanoleaf and DMX.

Who the SC LIVE 4 is for
The manufacturer's specs point to a clear profile: mobile DJs who want to play gigs without preparing music in advance, and anyone practising or livestreaming at home. According to Denon DJ, the built-in speakers are designed exactly for that – practice, content creation and personal monitoring during a set. A white edition is explicitly aimed at weddings and mobile events.
