The Denon DJ SC6000 Prime plays two tracks at once – from a single unit, with separate outputs for each layer. Denon DJ unveiled it ahead of NAMM 2020 as the successor to the SC5000, and the maker bills it as its flagship media player for mainstage performance. Two players in one chassis
The heart of the unit is dual-layer playback: according to Denon DJ, the SC6000 plays two separate tracks simultaneously and shows them as stacked waveforms. Bonedo sums it up with simple maths: both decks can be sent separately to the X1850 or any other mixer – two players, four decks.
You control it all from a 10.1-inch touchscreen where you search, load, scrub through waveforms and manage crates right on the unit. Compared with the SC5000, Bonedo notes that the screen grew from 7 to 10 inches, and the extra space went into larger navigation and control buttons.
Jog wheel, pads and timestretch
The jog wheel measures 8.5 inches and has adjustable tension, with a 2.2-inch colour display in the centre for artwork or a logo. Below sit eight rubberised, illuminated performance pads for hot cues, loops, roll and slice. Bonedo also mentions a 100 mm pitch fader.
For harmonic mixing, the player offers key shift and a key match function. Denon DJ describes its timestretch as artefact-free even at extreme tempo changes, and Bonedo credits it with excellent keylock.

Music from a stick, a drive or the cloud
Over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, the SC6000 streams without a computer from Beatport LINK, Beatsource LINK, SoundCloud GO+ and TIDAL, plus your own collection on Dropbox. Who the SC6000 is for
The manufacturer's specs point to a clear profile: the SC6000 is aimed at DJs who play standalone without a laptop, switch between streaming and local media and want to run more than two decks with minimal hardware.
