Daft Punk and LEGO have announced a partnership. Planned projects include themed content and an official concert set based on a LEGO Ideas submission.
Daft Punk and Danish toy company LEGO have announced a new collaboration. As part of this partnership, the official Daft Punk Concert LEGO set is set to become a reality.
From Fan Concept to Official Model
The foundation of the upcoming release is a design originally submitted to the LEGO Ideas platform two years ago. Patrick Harboun, co-creator of the submission, stated:
“This all started as a creative escape during lockdown between my son and I because of our shared love of Daft Punk and LEGO building. We never dared imagine it would take off in this way.”
LEGO has now approved the development of the model. The build recreates the pyramid stage. Cédric Hervet, Creative Director for DAFT PUNK™, commented on the visual concept:
“The pyramid stage is one of the most recognisable expressions of Daft Punk’s visual world, so it feels fitting that this fan-created design will be centre stage of this partnership.”
Additional Content Planned
According to both brands, the release of the set is only the start of their joint plans. They also intend to present events and content crossing music, culture, and creative spaces. As of now, LEGO has not shared an official launch date or details regarding pricing.
