Moog has announced two new amplifiers designed specifically for use with electronic musical instruments such as synthesisers, keyboards and drum machines. The two units are named Model 112 and Model 210 and operate as full-range, flat-response (FRFR) systems.
Shared features and connectivity
Both models provide core specifications for routing and mixing:
- Four stereo inputs for connecting multiple electronic sources
- Built-in four-channel stereo mixer for balancing signals
- Bluetooth streaming for wireless audio playback
Hardware differences between both units
The smaller Model 112 is equipped with a 12-inch woofer and a one-inch compression driver. A handle mounted on top is provided for transport.
The Model 210 features a 2.5-way speaker configuration with two 10-inch woofers alongside a one-inch compression driver. This unit includes full-grip side handles as well as detachable casters.
According to Moog Music President Joe Richardson, the amplifiers are built to faithfully convey the distinct sonic character of instruments ranging from synthesisers to drum machines. He added that musicians who put effort into shaping their sound require amplification that reproduces it accurately, consistently and exactly as intended.
