AlphaTheta has introduced the wireless HDJ-F9 on-ear headphones. Designed for DJ monitoring, the model features SonicLink wireless technology with 9 ms latency.
Targeted at performance use by DJs, AlphaTheta brings out the cordless on-ear model HDJ-F9. The unit features two separate operating modes for mixing and everyday listening.
Wireless Performance via SonicLink
For performance use, the closed-back headphones utilize proprietary SonicLink wireless technology operating in the 2.4 GHz band. According to the manufacturer, latency reaches only 9 ms to allow accurate beatmatching and scratching without cables. Operating range reaches approximately 15 meters in open conditions. Compatible gear, such as the DJM-V5 mixer running updated firmware, connects via touch pairing. For equipment lacking native support, the HP-TX01 transmitter is available.
Hardware and Acoustic Design
Audio is handled by newly developed 40 mm drivers utilizing a PEEK-PU-PEEK composite diaphragm. The frequency response spans from 5 Hz to 30 kHz. Each earcup incorporates a bass reflex chamber and features a swivel mechanism. The frame includes an adjustable die-cast aluminum slider and a silicone headband. The unit weighs 285 g without cables. A 1.2 m coiled cable with a bayonet lock is included for wired operation.
Bluetooth and App Integration
Outside the booth, the headphones function using Bluetooth 5.3, supporting SBC, AAC, multipoint pairing, Google Fast Pair, and Windows Swift Pair. Through the HEADPHONES CONNECT app, users can adjust status LEDs, button assignments, and auto power-off settings. An integrated microphone and a "Find My Headphones" function are also included.
- SonicLink battery runtime: up to 9 hours (LED off)
