Euterpe Vertice Filterbank presented

· re:union Radio editorial · 1 min read

The analog Vertice Filterbank by Euterpe Synthesizer Laboratories features three Steiner-Parker filters and flexible routing options.

Euterpe Synthesizer Laboratories has presented an overview of the Vertice Filterbank. The Italian manufacturer is run by Stefano Bersanetti and Mirella Vigna. The completely hand-crafted analog hardware is built in a 5U 19-inch rack format or optionally with wooden side panels. The unit weighs nearly 8 kg and features an internal power supply.

Architecture and Signal Flow

The unit relies on three discrete Steiner-Parker multimode filters, offering low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass modes at 12 dB per octave. In addition to true stereo operation and individual taps, the filters can be cascaded into a 36 dB per octave filter controlled via the master cutoff. Through Emphasis Attitude switches, the feedback path can be toggled from diode to transistor, generating early self-oscillation. Filter A also includes switchable distortion.

Modulation and Control

Sound shaping includes a loopable ADSR envelope and a THAT2181-based VCA. All connections are provided as 6.3 mm jacks. The rear individual outputs of channels A and B reach levels up to 14 Vpp for modular compatibility. External gate signals can also trigger envelope-controlled ducking effects.

  • Three Steiner-Parker filters with low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass modes
  • Modes: stereo, mono, cascaded 36 dB filter, or synthesizer use
  • Routing to a loopable ADSR envelope and VCA
  • Optional wooden side panels and two vintage component assembly options
