Charlotte de Witte has announced a new EP titled Azadi. The release is scheduled for November 5 on her label KNTXT. The project contains three tracks:
- Azadi
- Omid
- Tales Of The Desert
On this release, de Witte collaborates with NAVA, an AI vocalist developed by British-Iranian artist Farbod Mehr. The project aims to represent Iranian women who are barred from singing in public under the country's laws. All proceeds from the EP will be donated to FEMENA, an organisation supporting women human rights defenders and feminist movements in Asia and the SWANA region.
De Witte shared a snippet of Tales Of The Desert on Instagram accompanied by AI-generated visuals showing herself alongside NAVA. She also performed one of the tracks during her surprise set on the Tomorrowland 2026 Mainstage. Explaining the initiative, de Witte pointed out that music can cross frontiers and share untold stories. She noted that NAVA embodies Iranian women excluded from public performances, while facing no threat of detention. She added: “These tracks are, in their own way, a small act of resistance.”
NAVA incorporates Iranian artistic and folk traditions and has also appeared as a hologram. The choice to collaborate with an artificial vocalist led to mixed reactions online, drawing criticism from some users while others supported the underlying message. Recently, de Witte secured the top spot among techno acts in the 2026 edition of DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list.
