Après l'annonce de la fermeture de Tresor.West, le propriétaire Alexander Richter évoque l'avenir de l'espace situé sous la Phoenixhalle.
Dortmund club Tresor.West will shut its doors at the end of the year. Regarding the future of the basement beneath the Phoenixhalle, property owner Alexander Richter has now commented on potential next steps.
Plans for future operations
Speaking to Ruhr Nachrichten, Richter stated: “Ich denke, dass wir eine vernünftige Nachnutzung hinkriegen werden”. Ideally, he envisions a young, ambitious club promoter taking over the venue and making use of the existing interior setup. Any incoming concept must fit the building. Talks concerning two potential usage paths are currently underway, though Richter did not provide further details.
Background on the venue and operators
Richter is a co-founder of the former Warsteiner Music Hall, which launched in 2018 with a live show by Die Fantastischen Vier and is known today as Phoenixhalle. In his role as co-founder and managing director of the booking agency Four Artists, in which the band holds a stake, he was among the hall’s builders. Following the pandemic, concert operations ceased and were not resumed. Since late 2023, the site has housed the digital art exhibition Phoenix des Lumières.
Tresor.West founder Dimitri Hegemann opened the club in November 2019. He is set to remain the tenant of the space until future arrangements are finalized.
