Erica Synths has introduced Perkons HD-01, a hybrid drum machine and synthesizer featuring four voices and an integrated sequencer.
Hybrid Sound Engine and Sequencer
Erica Synths has introduced Perkons HD-01, an instrument combining a drum machine and a synthesizer. The unit features four hybrid voices, each uniting a digital sound engine with an analog multimode filter and overdrive. Each voice provides three sound engine modes, an HP/BP/LP filter, eight knobs for sound design, and an internal analog BBD FX send.
Voice parameter settings can be saved as kits. To add movement to performances, parameter automation is implemented, alongside a modulation LFO offering morphing waveforms, phase shift, and eight destinations. All voice signals are summed and routed through a built-in optical compressor and a master overdrive.
Connectivity and Sequencer Features
For external gear integration, each voice provides a velocity-sensitive trigger input for drum pads, individual audio outputs, as well as FX send and return jacks using 6.3 mm connections. MIDI is supported via MIDI IN and MIDI OUT ports.
The built-in sequencer provides simultaneous control across all four percussion tracks. Core specifications include:
- 4-track sequencer with 4 time divisions and 4 time multiplications per track
- Ratchets and probabilities per step
- 4 shuffle algorithms
- Memory for 64 kits and 64 patterns, plus storage on SD card
- Built-in analog Bucket Brigade Delay and optical compressor
