Technics has introduced the SL-1210MKX DJ turntable. The unit features wider pitch ranges, reverse playback, and an increased total weight.

Technics has introduced the SL-1210MKX (also referred to as the SL-1200MKX), a new turntable for DJs. The deck serves as the successor to the SL-1210MK7 and incorporates several revised features.

New Features and Feedback Isolation

The total weight has increased to 11.9 kg compared to 9.6 kg on the MK7. Combined with newly developed isolators, this mass is aimed at minimizing feedback. The pitch adjustment options have also been expanded: alongside ±8% and ±16%, the unit provides ranges of ±4% and ±50%. Additionally, a reverse playback mode is integrated.

Other hardware updates include the following components:

  • A glare-free LED stylus light
  • A push reset button designed with lower operating noise
  • A modified headshell mount
  • An enlarged phono ground terminal

Specifications and Hardware

The unit features a die-cast aluminum platter, a silver tonearm with height adjustment, direct drive, and an electronic brake. Supported rotational speeds are 33 1/3, 45, and 78 rpm. Audio connectivity consists of standard RCA phono outputs and the ground connector. The turntable comes in black and silver finishes. Included accessories comprise a removable dust cover, a slipmat, and a slipsheet, while a cartridge is not included.
