Serato has announced Serato DJ 5.0. The software brings Lucid Beatgrids, Open Streaming, and Cue Loops, launching directly into public beta.
Serato has introduced Serato DJ 5.0. The update for DJ Pro and DJ Lite is now accessible as a public beta, adding several new features to the DJ software.
Lucid Beatgrids for Changing Tempos
With Lucid Beatgrids, Serato presents a rebuilt analysis engine designed to automatically identify fluctuating BPM rates during track analysis. This aims to reduce manual grid adjustments. Two modes are provided for working with grids:
- A new Flexible mode
- An improved Fixed mode
- Expanded controls for beatgrid editing
- Waveform BPM labels for immediate tempo tracking
Open Streaming and Cue Loops
The Open Streaming functionality allows users to log into multiple streaming platforms concurrently. Songs from competing streaming providers can be mixed together alongside the local library. Services are displayed as separate crates, accompanied by a search dropdown menu. In addition, BPM and key details for streamed tracks can be seen prior to analysis.
Another addition is Cue Loops, which enables saving loops as Hot Cues so that playback jumps to the marker and engages the loop instantly. This option is restricted to DJ Pro.
