kiskadee announces upcoming album with single here with u

Producer, multi-instrumentalist and composer Jack Chown has released the single here with u under his project name kiskadee. Out now on the label Thoughts Collective, the track serves as the first taste of his second album, which is scheduled for arrival in 2027. A remix by Courage is set to follow.

Sonic approach and project origins

Musically, the composition combines shuffling percussion with bright melodies and electronic textures. The project took shape in 2020 during lockdown, when Chown began transforming voice notes from relatives and friends into beats. Raised on Jersey, his creative process draws on his island environment by pairing organic field recordings with electronic production. Following the debut EP Home in 2021 and the album A Room to Breathe in 2024, the new single introduces the artist's next chapter.

Stage work and studio background

Operating from his studio in East London, Chown draws on extensive background across various fields of sound design and performance. Key aspects of his career include:

• Performances with his live setup, launched in 2023, at events such as Glastonbury, Green Man, Wilderness and Secret Garden Party, alongside headline and support appearances in London.
• Engineering work at Abbey Road and Baltic Studios on projects involving M.I.A., Jessie Ware, Liam Gallagher and James Bay.
• Composing for films, campaigns and installations, including the score for Touching Hands created with Guy Ritchie and the interactive piece Photo//Synthesis.
• Collaborations with producers such as Andrew Wyatt, Kid Harpoon and Stint.
