ADAM Audio has unveiled the H715 Reference, an open-back studio headphone for mixing and mastering featuring a dedicated Hi-Fi mode and software.
ADAM Audio from Berlin has introduced the ADAM Audio H715 Reference, an open-back, over-ear studio headphone designed for mixing and mastering. The unit utilizes dynamic transducers with 40 mm drivers, a titanium-coated PEN diaphragm, and neodymium magnets. It features an impedance of 150 ohms, a frequency response from 9 Hz to 40 kHz (-3 dB), and a maximum SPL of 113 dB at 1 kHz. The weight without cable is 302 grams.
Balanced operation and build
A recessed hardware switch on the left ear cup enables a Hi-Fi mode for balanced operation by separating the ground connection. This switch is operated using an included metal pin. To support this configuration, the package includes a three-meter 4.4 mm Pentaconn cable, alongside a 1.3-meter coiled cable for studio tasks.
The angled drivers sit behind a steel mesh grille. The headband consists of plastic and spring steel with a central gap to reduce contact pressure. The ear cups are attached via CNC-machined aluminium yokes and fold flat. The package also includes a hard case and two pairs of magnetically attached memory foam ear pads in fabric and synthetic leather. Cables, ear pads, and headband padding are replaceable.
Included software
The model comes with the Sonnox Headphone Utility plug-in, developed in collaboration with Sonnox, providing calibration profiles and an adjustable crossfeed function. Additionally, the ListenHub application for macOS is included for audio analysis, signal comparison, and metering.
