· re:union Radio editorial · 1 min read

Une mise à jour officielle du firmware pour l'op-xy apporte de nouveaux outils sonores, de l'audio multicanal et un synthé de batterie.

New features for the op-xy flagship

An official firmware update to version 1.2.0 has been released for the op-xy by teenage engineering. The update debuts alongside the opening of the manufacturer's new retail store in New York City. Accompanying the release, a stream titled midnight operations was scheduled, hosted by product owner Jonas.

drumline drum synth and dynamic filter

Among the primary additions to the software is a drum synthesizer named drumline. It features multiple models alongside parameters and sub-parameters, covering sounds ranging from kicks, snares, and hi-hats to congas, shakers, and claps. It also includes envelopes with custom shapes.

Another element is the dynamic filter. According to the manufacturer, this tool pairs high-pass and low-pass filtering with compression and drive. It can shape transients and add punch to drums, or impart extra depth and character to other sound engines.

Additional audio and processing options

Beyond drum synthesis and filtering, firmware 1.2.0 brings several further technical options:

  • Multichannel audio streaming via USB-C
  • A detune function
  • Combination of multimode filtering with drive and dynamics processing
