AKAI Professional has introduced the AKAI MPC 3.9 firmware update. It adds synthesis oscillators for drum and keygroup tracks alongside new tools.
AKAI Professional has presented the AKAI MPC 3.9 operating system update. The update is compatible with all standalone MPC hardware units and Force.
Oscillators Instead of Samples
The main feature introduces MPC Oscillators. Drum and Keygroup tracks can run oscillators instead of samples. The available synthesis models include wavetable, FM, ring modulation, single-cycle, and virtual analog.
Arrange Mode Updates and Project Transfer
Arrange Mode provides touch-based editing tools. Actions such as cut, copy, paste, duplicate, and inserting empty bars or clip rows operate directly from the Loop Brace. Projects can also be transferred between MPC Sample and standalone or desktop MPC units. Tracks from MPC Live, One, X, XL, and Key series can be exported back to MPC Sample.
Additional Additions
- MPC Sample effects are available in MPC.
- Q-Link integration is added for MPCe pads.
- MPC Software operates as an AU or VST3 plugin inside DAWs (currently in beta).
