Apple has shared a feature overview of Logic Pro 13. The DAW introduces an AI assistant, six-part drum separation, and an updated browser.
Apple has shared a preview of features for Logic Pro 13 as part of an update to its Creator Studio suite. The upcoming version of the digital audio workstation focuses on several AI-driven tools.
Control via AI Assistant
The main addition is an intelligent assistant featuring a chatbot interface that responds to user directions. It can insert tracks into a project, launch plugins, and tweak mixer levels. According to manufacturer information, the tool helps navigate workflows, start songs, configure vocal tracks from a single prompt, or adjust active arrangements. Operating on a mixture of OpenAI systems and proprietary Apple technology, the feature requires macOS 27 Golden Gate or later on an Apple Intelligence-compatible Mac and debuts in English.
Updated Stem Splitter and browser
The built-in Stem Splitter now breaks down drum recordings into six discrete stems: Kick, Snare, Hi-hat, Toms, Cymbals, and Other. An overhauled browser automatically categorises and tags audio content locally on the machine. Users can locate sounds through natural language prompts or by submitting an audio file to detect similar elements. A native integration for Splice has also been incorporated.
Visual redesign and sound content
The interface integrates the Liquid Glass design language, incorporating translucent elements, curved edges, and a slightly darker colour scheme. A new Producer Pack created by Sergio George adds Latin jazz loops, salsa percussion, brass, and piano presets.
