IK Multimedia has presented the ARC STUDIO+, a room correction hardware unit that allows standalone calibration without a computer.
IK Multimedia has introduced the IK Multimedia ARC STUDIO+. Positioned between the signal source and studio monitors, the room correction hardware adjusts the frequency response outside the DAW, functioning independently of specific software or computer CPU load.
Features and calibration
Calibration can be executed directly on the device without requiring a computer. The included measurement microphone connects to a dedicated microphone input, allowing 1- or 3-point measurements at the press of a button. For more detailed analysis, the included ARC X software supports 7- and 21-point 3D measurements. Saved profiles are stored directly within the unit.
The system also features automated subwoofer management. It detects a connected subwoofer and autonomously configures gain, crossover, phase, and delay between the main monitors and the sub.
Connectivity and technical specifications
- Analogue connections: XLR/TRS combo inputs, XLR monitor outputs, and a dedicated subwoofer output
- Digital connections: USB-C input as well as optical S/PDIF in and out
- Audio conversion: 32-bit up to 192 kHz with 120 dB dynamic range (A-weighted)
- Processing delay: 1.4 ms using the Natural-Phase setting and 42 ms in Linear-Phase operation
