Stylophone announces On-The-Fly Performance Sequencer

Stylophone has introduced the On-The-Fly Performance Sequencer. The portable unit features a screen-free interface alongside Eurorack and MIDI connectivity.

New hardware for live sequencing

Stylophone has presented the On-The-Fly (OTF) Performance Sequencer. The battery-powered, portable unit is built for direct musical creation without distractions. Its interface operates completely without screens or menu diving, having been designed to be played rather than purely programmed.

Every control provides immediate response during a performance, allowing musicians to alter pitch, rhythm, and playing dynamics while sequences run. Eight initial steps can be expanded into sequences of 16, 32, or 64 steps, complemented by eight pattern chains switchable in real time.

Series integration and connectivity

The OTF joins the DS-2 and CPM DF-8 within Stylophone's Pro range and marks the debut of the Music Lab series. It offers a variety of connections for external gear:

  • Full Eurorack CV
  • Gate
  • Sync
  • MIDI

Stylophone CEO John Simpson commented on the design approach:

“OTF turns sequencing into an instrument. No screens. No menu diving. No clutter. Nothing in the way between your ideas and sound. That's what Stylophone is all about.”

Other recent hardware

This release follows other gear introduced during the same year. Earlier rollouts included the pocket-sized sampler VOICE, equipped with twelve onboard effects, and a MINI Keychain edition of the flagship synthesizer featuring an operational stylus, a built-in speaker, and a metal clasp.
