inMusic, the parent company of brands including Akai, Moog, Alesis, Numark, and Denon, plans to expand developer access to its hardware. The company announced that versions of the upcoming MPC Sample and MPC Sample Keys will be open to custom coding. Additional hardware, including the MPC flagships, is also slated for modification support.
Presentation in January
For the NAMM show in January, inMusic has scheduled 22 functional product introductions. Many of these units will be accessible to programmers as well as for both traditional and AI-assisted development. Furthermore, the company is hosting an on-site test space called The Creator Lab, featuring pre-production units and engineers on-hand.
Planned features include SSH access on standalone MPCs to enable developer settings and run custom tools for visuals and audio. Alongside these modification features, the devices are designed to remain fully functional finished products with regular firmware updates and the option to return to factory settings.
