TRAKTOR PRO 4: Real-Time Stem Separation & Pattern Player

· re:union Radio editorial · 2 min read

TRAKTOR PRO 4 adds iZotope RX stem separation, Signature Pattern Player kits from top techno artists, 40+ effects, and Ozone Maximizer for pro DJ sets.

TRAKTOR PRO 4 is the latest evolution of Native Instruments' DJ software and goes well beyond what the previous 3.x versions offered. The core of the new release is waveform-based stem separation directly in the deck – drums, bass, instruments, and vocals can be isolated live, instead of being pre-rendered offline.

At a glance

  • Real-time stem separation via iZotope RX technology
  • Pattern Player with Signature drum kits from Rebekah, Luke Slater, Len Faki, Chris Liebing, and Nicole Moudaber
  • More than 40 Deck FX plus new Mixer FX, including dub delays, reverbs, and phasers
  • Ozone Maximizer for loudness-optimized mastering without clipping

Stems Without the Detour

Native Instruments describes the feature like this: "Transform your mixing and remixing with stem separation." The four stems are extracted from any track using iZotope RX technology and can be individually muted or soloed while the waveform stays visible in the deck. For sets that switch between acapella drops and pure drum passages, this eliminates the previous need for stem prep outside the software.

Pattern Player with Pro Handwriting

New is the Pattern Player: it serves up drum machine sounds as Signature Kits curated by artists like Rebekah, Luke Slater, Len Faki, Chris Liebing, and Nicole Moudaber. This lets you build extra percussion layers directly in your set, no external hardware or second app required.

Effects, Beatgrids & Mastering

For sound design, Native Instruments says you get "more than 40 Deck FX and new Mixer FX," including dub delays, reverbs, and phaser effects across four assignable effect processors. Beatgrid detection handles tempo changes within a track flexibly, while timestretching runs on Elastique 3 to preserve audio quality during loops, beat jumps, and beat-effect layering. The Ozone Maximizer, also based on iZotope mastering tech, boosts loudness via Intelligent Release Control without clipping your signal.
